I have been thinking about buying a satellite phone to call my family outside the US. I need some advice.?

My family live in a country where the regular service is too expensive. Per consequence, I can’t call so often. Does anybody knows about satellite phones, service, affordable way to buy them, etc. All the information would be appreciated. Thanks.

I’m sure you understand that it will not benefit you on the US end to have a satellite phone to call your family located outside the US. You will need to send the phone to your family for them to use to call you or receive your calls.
