a good brand cdma mobile phone will work , the satellite phones are very expensive to operate ,but they are available

just get a quad band phone and call your carrier and put it on roaming
i assumee your american, the rest of the world use phones too, admittedly of a better quality, unless your steven seagal in under siege it would be pretty pointless
