Can I setup my Dish Network Reciever through a Satellite Internet Phone line (Vonage)?

I’ve been told that I can avoid the $5 dollar fee per reciever if I hook them up to a phone line. The problem is that I have vonage / satellite internet. Will it still work or do I need a land based phone line.

I have Dish and no $5 per rcvr fee and no phone line hook-up. What is the purpose of the phone line?

You can just connect the phone line to your Vonage telephone adapter. The telephone adapter takes care of all the VOIP conversions for you, so the telephone service coming out of the Vonage telephone adapter works just like a land line on the customer side.
So what I am trying to say is: Yes, you can use Vonage to connect your receiver. Just tell DISH network that it is a land line. They won’t see anything different on their side. They just use the line primarily to check for Pay-Per-View purchases.
Good luck!
